How to Roller Wrap Ethnic Hair

Instructions

Things You’ll Need:

  • Setting lotion
  • Rollers
  • Hardhat blow dryer
  • Plastic bristled brush
  • Spritz or hair spray
  • Step 1:
    Shampoo and condition the hair.
  • Step 2:
    Use a light, leave-in conditioner to add extra protection to the ethnic hair.
  • Step 3:
    Spritz the hair with setting lotion. Roll the hair into 1½ to 2 inch sections while the hair is still wet. The rollers should produce a soft to moderate curl when removed.
  • Step 4:
    Sit under a hardhat dryer for 45 minutes or until the hair is completely dry. Remove the rollers.
  • Step 5:
    Wrap the hair with a wide, plastic bristled brush around the hair.
  • Step 6:
    Stay under the hardhat blow dryer for two to five minutes to set the hair, depending on the thickness of the hair.
  • Step 7:
    Unwrap the hair into the opposite direction as it was wrapped in Step 5. Arrange the hair in the desired style and lightly spray with spritz or hair spray.

Tips & Warnings

  • You should be able to maintain this roller wrap ethnic hair style for anywhere from five to seven days.
