How to Read an Xbox 360 Hard Drive

Instructions

  • Step 1:
    Ensure that your hard drive is properly installed on your Xbox 360, and turn on the console.
  • Step 2:
    Navigate to "System Settings" under the My Xbox heading on the Xbox 360 main menu. Press "A."
  • Step 3:
    Select "Memory" from the System Settings menu. Press "A."
  • Step 4:
    Select your hard drive from the list or storage devices. Press "A."
  • Step 5:
    Select the desired category of content you would like to view. From here, you can opt to delete, move or copy files on your hard drive.

Tips & Warnings

  • When selecting the storage device in Step 4, if there are multiple entries on this screen, the other devices listed will either be USB devices or Xbox 360 memory cards. If you are unsure which is your hard drive, simply disconnect all Xbox 360 memory cards and USB devices.
