How to Manage an Entertainer

Tuesday, June 17, 2008

Instructions

  • Step 1:
Find the entertainers you want to manage. If you see singers or dancers performing and would like to become their manager, then ask them if they need a manager.
  • Step 2:
Agree on payment. Discuss how much percentage you would get from each performance and each gig. A contract should be developed and agreed upon so that there is no misunderstanding.
  • Step 3:
Make sure you believe your entertainers are good. This will help you promote them successfully.
  • Step 4:
Contact the type of venues that would hire your entertainers, such as a club or a performance hall.
  • Step 5:
Search for tryouts for plays or shows that are going on around town or in nearby cities.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be assertive. Many times a club owner or manager (for example) will tell you no, but if you keep insisting and explaining how good your entertainer is, they may grant a try-out.
  • Never underestimate the talent of your entertainer.
