Instructions

Things You’ll Need:

  • Good-luck object
  • Bag, string or necklace
  • Power drill
  • Step 1:
Good-luck charms are usually something small you carry around with you. You can put a good-luck charm object on a necklace, bracelet or keychain. Or you can carry around a small charm-like object by itself or in a bag that closes tightly. Decide which way you want to carry around your charm.
  • Step 2:
If you already have an object that you consider to be good luck, use that. Say your grandma gave you an old ring of hers or you have a charm that was once part of a charm bracelet. For anything that's small and already has a hole in it, you can attach your charm to a piece of string for an easy good-luck charm.
  • Step 3:
There are particular stones that are considered good luck, if you're having trouble coming up with ideas. Jade and rose quartz are both involved in feng shui, for example. Buy one of these stones and put it in a bag that closes. You can also buy pre-made feng shui bags online. Any sort of good-luck charm can go in a bag like this to carry around, too.
  • Step 4:
Make any of your favorite lucky objects a necklace or talisman by drilling a hole through the middle of it. As long as the object won't fall apart or be ruined by adding a hole, this is a great way to make a good-luck charm. Depending on how thick the object it, your normal power drill can do a good job. If you have a lucky coin or token, a simple hole through the middle will do the trick.
  • Step 5:
If you want to make an entire good-luck necklace or bracelet with stones or beads, the best place to go is a bead or craft store. Here you'll find plain necklaces with clasps, and the employees can help you attach your good-luck charm to the necklace if it's a tough job.

Tips & Warnings

  • For ideas, ask your family and friends which objects they consider to be lucky. You might find something you didn't think of before.
  • Be very careful if you use a power drill. If you're not accustomed to using such equipment, have somebody supervise or drill the hole for you.
