Instructions

Things You’ll Need:

  • Motorcycle ramp Ratchet straps
  • Step 1:
Roll the motorcycle onto the ramp with a buddy or two there to spot you. Have one of your buddies stand on the truck trailer bed to receive the bike fully and roll it all the way onto the truck as you spot it at the bottom back.
  • Step 2:
Strap the motorcycle down to the truck using ratchet straps so that it won't move around during transport. It is most effective to strap down your motorcycle at the handle bars and either side of the frame. Once the motorcycle is safely inside the truck, be sure to shut the tailgate securely before driving off.
  • Step 3:
Go to a loading dock that lines up with the back of your pickup truck and simply roll your motorcycle onto the back of the truck, then tie it down. Use this option if you don't have a motorcycle trailer or ramp.

Tips & Warnings

  • There are also motorcycle trailers, which are shaped like a large box, either wood or stainless steel, and others that are just a basic platform on wheels. These models are meant for pulling the motorcycle behind the truck rather than loading it on. This is best if you don't have a pickup truck with a flatbed to hold the bike.
