Instructions

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer
  • Step 1:
Visit the publisher's website. If you dig around on the websites of both Marvel and DC Comics, you'll find a handful of free comics you can check out. Marvel only offers free previews (you have to pay for the full book), but you can get some full books free through DC.
  • Step 2:
Check the websites of comic-book retailers. On occasion, the website of a major comic retailer might have a few full comic books for you to check out. The Mile High Comics website, for example, has many previews and some free books if you look hard enough.
  • Step 3:
Read comic strips online to get your fix. They're not comic books, but they are very free and legal. Creators' Syndicate offers a full archive of the numerous comic strips it places in America's newspapers each day.

Tips & Warnings

  • It is pretty tough to read free comic books legally. If the books were free, then the comic book companies wouldn't make any money.
  • Don't assume it's legal just because it's free. Be careful what you download and where you download it from. If you're not getting your stuff from a major site, you're probably getting it illegally.
