  • Step 1:
    Research the keywords and keyword phrases that best apply to your website. There are free online tools to help you with this essential website promotion step. They include Google Adwords Analyzer and the free Good Keywords software for Windows.
  • Step 2:
    Select the keywords that best apply to your website. You will need these when it is time to promote your site so that people will click through to your site.
  • Step 3:
    Use the keywords you have selected in the title and description metatags for your webpage. You will need to edit the HTML to do this. There are many websites that offer an introduction to basic HTML.
  • Step 4:
    Write content for your site that uses the same keywords and use the keywords as clickable links. Make sure that the content is interesting and informative so that people will want to click.
  • Step 5:
    Create an article related to your business's products or services that you can use for article marketing. Include the keywords in the body of the article and in the author's bio at the end.
