How to Create a Sexy Wave

Instructions

  • Step 1:
    Wash your hair with a volume building shampoo. Try a shampoo like Aussie Real Volume Shampoo. Skip the conditioner when creating this style.
  • Step 2:
    Use a large paddled brush on your hair as you dry it with a blow dryer. This makes the hair very straight. Since you want to create as much volume as possible, you should use the cold air setting to dry your roots.
  • Step 3:
    Curl hair with a large-barreled curling iron. Wrap the hair around the curling iron starting from the hair ends and working until you get as close to the roots as possible. Before curling the hair, section off the hair into four even parts using a hair clip.
  • Step 4:
    Spray the hair with hair spray while curling it. This helps keep the waves in place. Take each section of hair out of the curling iron after heating it for 10 seconds.
  • Step 5:
    Comb your hair with your fingers to release the curls. You may want to add more hair spray to keep the sexy waves in place.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have curly hair, you can still create a sexy wave. Follow the same steps, but apply a straightening balm to your hair prior to styling.
