How to Choose a Facial Scrub

Instructions

  • Step 1:
Know what type of skin you have. If your skin is constantly shiny and is always on the verge of a major breakout then you have oily skin. If your face looks like a desert wasteland and has more lines than a road map then you dry skin. When your skin falls somewhere in between, you are a member of the combination skin club.
  • Step 2:
When choosing a facial scrub, it is always best to ignore the price tag. Just because one facial scrub costs a lot more than another does not mean that it works any better.
  • Step 3:
Choose the type of abrasive material in your facial scrub. This choice will be based on your skin type. Micro-bead facial scrubs are gentle and work best for dry skin types. From combination through oily, you can choose an abrasive facial scrub that compliments the level of oil in your skin.
  • Step 4:
Choose a facial scrub with a salicylic acid only if you are prone to breakouts. This type of scrub can be very drying to skin.
  • Step 5:
Ignore the salesperson trying to convince you to buy more than the facial scrub. You do not need to buy the company's full line of skin care products to help your facial scrub work.
  • Step 6:
Pay for the facial scrub that you have so carefully selected and take it home to start using in your skin care regimen.
