  • Step 1:
    Consider the flow of your ezine. Keep your topics in sync with the ezine's presentation and general purpose. Combining two or more unrelated topics only detracts from the ezine's credibility by making it more like a blog than an ezine.
  • Step 2:
    Keep the content timeless, but within the range of the general topic. Topics that are valuable only at a certain time lose their value as soon as the time period is over. Cement your ezine's value by making its topics reference-material worthy.
  • Step 3:
    Write a special series. Make sure the series topic is popular enough for subscribers to appreciate the extended focus. Don't write a series simply because it's something you'd like to do. Ezines are just as much the reader's as they are the publisher's.
  • Step 4:
    Solicit feedback from your subscribers. You should stay in touch with your subscribers and your industry to make sure your topics provide value to your readers.
  • Step 5:
    Plan ahead. Write future topics down for later use, especially if you are writing a series. Completely change the focus of your topics after an especially detailed and extended series. Liven up your ezine with something refreshing and fun every once in awhile.
