How to Change the Default Web Browser in Mac Os X

Instructions

Things You’ll Need:

  • Mac OS X
  • Browser you wish to use
  • Step 1:
    Open Safari from "Applications" or use the Dashboard icon.
  • Step 2:
    Click on "Safari" in the menu bar.
  • Step 3:
    Now click on "Preferences..."
  • Step 4:
    Click on the "General" tab if it is not already selected.
  • Step 5:
    Choose a different browser from the Default Web Browser pop-up menu.

Tips & Warnings

  • Most web browsers will check at startup to see if they are the default browser. The browser will give you the option to make it the default browser.
