    Think through your legal question or questions carefully so you are clear in what you are asking. You might want to write them down.
  • Step 2:
    Make sure your question is a legal matter. You should not ask a personal opinion question or an entertainment question. All questions should be related to matters of the law. The question should be about contract, constitutional, trust, criminal, property, administrative or an international law matter.
  • Step 3:
    Visit sites online that specialize in answering legal questions to see if your question has already been answered. Some sites to check include; US Legal, Law Guru, Avvo Answers and Just Answer (see Resources). These sites have categories for different areas of law with commonly asked questions.
  • Step 4:
    Ask your question in the fields provided at the US Legal, Law Guru, Avvo Answers and Just Answer sites if you do not see an answer to your question in the category section. Allow a few days for an answer.
