How to Accept Dinner Invitations in Kuwait

Instructions

  • Step 1:
    Accepting the dinner invitation with a handshakeShake hands warmly but not firmly as you accept the invitation graciously.
  • Step 2:
    A formal dinner in KuwaitAsk where the dinner will be held and who will be attending.
  • Step 3:
    Ask for directions to the location if the area is unfamiliar to you.
  • Step 4:
    Ask about (male) family members or, if it is a business dinner, other business-related attendees---who will probably be male family members. Never ask directly about female relatives, especially if you are a man. Ask indirectly instead about the person's family.
  • Step 5:
    What type of dinner will this be?Enquire about the purpose of the dinner: business, celebratory or purely social. If the dinner is at the host's home, and you are a man, do not bring your wife unless it is specifically requested; women will be hosted separately from the men by female members of the family.
  • Step 6:
    Shaking hands is very important for dinner confirmationShake hands warmly, but not firmly, as you confirm and again accept the invitation.
