Instructions

Game Saves

  • Step 1:
Xbox 360 game data requires very little space. If you only intend to use the Xbox 360 HDD for game saves and occasionally downloadable game content, then a 20 GB HDD would be sufficient.

Xbox Live Arcade Games

  • Step 1:
Xbox Live Arcade games can be sizeable downloads. If you intend to download numerous Arcade games from the Xbox Live marketplace, a 60 GB HDD would be recommended.

Videos

  • Step 1:
If you plan to store videos on your Xbox 360, then you will need at least a 60 GB HDD. A 120 GB HDD would be a better choice, however, as long as it is within your budget.

General Purpose

  • Step 1:
If you intend to store game saves, videos and Arcade games on your HDD, then your best general purpose option will be the 120 GB HDD.

Availability

  • Step 1:
Microsoft originally offered Xbox 360s with a 20 GB or 60 GB HDD, but as of August 2009, only Xbox 360s with 120 GB HDDs will be manufactured.

Warning

  • Step 1:
Be warned that the Xbox 360 "Arcade" model does not come with any HDD, but instead comes with an Xbox 360 512 MB memory card.
