Basic Tutorials
Step 1:
If you are brand new to Paint Shop Pro, start with tutorials that help you learn more about the tools and how to customize the menus. PaintShop Pro tutorials at mardiweb.com/web/psp7/ and http://www.baycongroup.com/paint_shop_pro/tutorials.htm have a lot of helpful basic PSP tutorials. Set up the toolbars to make your work more efficient. Also, each tool has different attributes that may be confusing at first. Work through a step-by-step tutorial that walks you through these tasks.
Text Effect Tutorials
Step 1:
There are many effects you can create with text in Paint Shop Pro. Colorize it, give it a three-dimensional look and texture or make it follow a curve. Convert text objects to vector graphics and edit them to change the shape in unique ways. PSPtutorials.org, in the Resources section below, has a section with several tutorials on text effects.
Special Effects Tutorials
Step 1:
Learn to use plug-ins to give items special effects, such as neon or charcoal, filling an area with a pattern, making it look as if they are made of velvet, or giving them a special sparkle. Add special frames or put an item in a glass globe. Find special effects tutorials in the PSP Special Effects section of PSPtutorials.org, linked in the Resources section below.
Photo Editing Tutorials
Step 1:
Editing photos is one of the most popular uses for Paint Shop Pro. Besides getting rid of red eye and rotating photos taken by turning the camera sideways, there are lots of other tricks you can try. Adjust the color or make a color photo black and white. Give the photo a soft focus or turn it into a pencil sketch. Refer to the second and third links in the Resources section below; both have photo editing tutorials.
Digital Scrapbooking Tutorials
Step 1:
Digital scrapbooking is becoming more popular as digital photographers use pictures to create scrapbook pages. Learn to gather digital scrapbook elements and put them together to create a lively page filled with memories. Find out how to use layers, to add drop shadows, to overlay a photo onto the paper, to cut out around an object or person in the photo and to get rid of the photo background. There are many techniques you can't do with paper scrapbooking that you can do with digital elements and software. Digital Scrapbook Place, the third link in the References section below, has tutorials on using PSP for digital scrapbooking.
Look at Photoshop Tutorials
Step 1:
After you have mastered most of the tools in Paint Shop Pro, you may find that you want to learn more tricks.
