Instructions

Uses for Semi-Permanent Hair Color

  • Step 1:
Semi-permanent hair color will color gray hair, add highlights and, if desired, can make hair a shade darker than the natural hair color.

How Semi-Permanent Hair Color Works

  • Step 1:
Semi-permanent hair colors contain small molecules that easily enter the hair shaft without breaking down natural hair pigments and changing the color as with permanent hair dyes (see "Resources").

Gentle to Hair

  • Step 1:
Semi-permanent colors do not contain bleach thereby avoiding the possibility of dryness and damage caused by some permanent hair colors. Hair quality may actually improve because of the conditioners used in semi-permanent hair colors.

Color Fading

  • Step 1:
The product used and the porosity of the hair determines how long the semi-permanent color will remain on the hair before beginning to fade, usually between 20 to 30 weeks. Unlike temporary hair colors, the semi-permanent colors are not rinsed off with water.

No Embarrassing Root Lines

  • Step 1:
Unlike the embarrassing root line that appears with new growth when using permanent hair colors, semi-permanent hair colors wash out gradually as hair is shampooed leaving no tell-tale lines.
