Instructions

Levels of Hair Color

  • Step 1:
There are 10 levels of hair color used by manufacturers. The darkest black is level 1, while the lightest blond is level 10.

Permanent Hair Color

  • Step 1:
Permanent hair color changes the pigmentation of the hair strand, so it cannot be washed out, though it does fade over time. Permanent color is the harshest form of hair color because it chemically alters the natural color of the hair.

Semi-Permanent Color

  • Step 1:
Similar to permanent hair color, it is used to only darken the natural color. The change is not irreversible or long-lasting.

Single Process Color

  • Step 1:
Hair experts consider this the safest form of home coloring. People usually do this method to try out a color before moving on to permanent hair color.

Deposit-Only Color

  • Step 1:
This type of color uses a really low percentage of peroxide. Hair is only lightened or darkened by one level.
