Baptism Present Ideas

InstructionsBibleStep 1: A Bible makes a great gift for a baptism. Get the person a bible that is specific to his or her age group. Many bookstores, especially Christian bookstores, sell Bibles that are age-specific, such as teen Bibles and toddler Bibles. They also sell Bibles that are gender-specific, life-application Bibles and study Bibles. The various Bibles all contain the same stories. However, the stories are paraphrased in ways that the individual can understand and apply to their everyday life and the notes and life applications vary depending on the type of Bible.
Prayer ToolsStep 1: Prayer is one of the important things they will need to do on a daily basis to live a spiritual life. Purchase a prayer blanket to encourage the individual to have a prayer life after being baptized. You can personalize the blanket by having the person's name and baptism date embroidered on it. Explain to the individual that he or she can wrap up in the blanket whenever he or she wants to be alone in prayer. By explaining how the blanket is to be used, the individual will appreciate the preciousness of the blanket. If the person is Catholic, you can purchase rosary beads. Purchase a prayer book that contains short prayers for various life situations.
JewelryStep 1: Give a piece of jewelry the person can wear to represent his or her life after baptism. Silver represents purity in the Bible so consider giving the person silver jewelry. Silver is also relatively inexpensive and can last a long time. Pewter jewelry also is silver in color and is very durable. You can have the jewelry engraved with the person's name along with the date he or she was baptized. Also consider getting a silver bracelet that has a scripture engraved on it, or a cross pendant to represent the person's faith.
Vial of Baptism WaterStep 1: Fill a small vial with some of the water in which the person was baptized. Present it to the individual after they are baptized. This is something sentimental that not many people have. It is a way for them to always remember the moment they were baptized. If you desire to use the vial to obtain some of the baptismal water, be sure to advise the officiating clergy person. You can purchase the vial online or from your local Christan bookstore
