  • Step 1:
    Pay attention to the person’s mood and behavior. Ecstasy is known to make a person feel extremely happy, excited and peaceful. As a result, that person may smile, giggle and laugh a lot. He may want to constantly hug and touch others. When a person uses this drug, he also may have an enhanced feeling of confidence and self-esteem.
  • Step 2:
    Check to see whether she is experiencing any unusual changes with her body. When someone uses ecstasy, it is normal for that person to sweat and have chills, muscle cramps and tremors, and to experience an increase in body temperature, heart rate and blood pressure. She also might experience nausea, dizziness and involuntary teeth clenching.
  • Step 3:
    Determine whether the person is having problems with his vision. Ecstasy normally causes a person to have blurred vision and may cause hallucinations. Be sure to monitor his vision to find out whether he is having any problems seeing people or objects clearly, or whether he sees things that are not actually there.
  • Step 4:
    Find out whether she is getting enough sleep. If someone is using ecstasy, she may frequently experience sleep problems and therefore have trouble getting a proper amount of sleep each night. It is also common for ecstasy users to experience anxiety and depression, which also may contribute to the sleep problems. If you live with the person, be sure to observe her sleep patterns and try to determine how much sleep she actually is getting.
  • Step 5:
    Monitor the person’s energy level. When a person comes down from being high on ecstasy, he usually becomes extremely exhausted. That person also may appear to be emotionally and physically drained. Be sure to check to see whether he appears weak or has a lack of strength or stamina.
