If the sun ceased to be, could humans survive on earth?

    No, assuming hypothetically you meant that the Sun didn't destroy Earth in the process of extinguishing itself, without the sun plant life would cease to exsist which would break the food chain and cause a mass extinction of all mammals and also there would be an etreme super severe ice age of temps well below the ammount needed to liquify oxygen...nothing could survive....

    • can't plants grow via artificial life? i mean hypothetically? I mean i've thought it through and i think humans probably could survive without the sun. We're pretty smart. Plenty of indoor grow setups these days. We know how to tunnel too. Theoretically we could probably hide inside the planets outer crust if sun extinction becomes an apparent concern. I feel it makes sense to assume that the sun will grow weaker and die. Most stuff burns smaller due to fuel extinction over time. Who knows though?
