Has anyone not answered the obvious. Once you contract with the military, you are obliged to serve your tour of duty. There is no legal way to get out because you have regrets. I have regrets every day I get up and it takes me an forever to dress and get ready for work. I have regrets when I can't walk and run the way I used to or powerlift. I have regrets that I lost men. I have regrets.

The decision was mine and I have to live with the decision. Someone that has regrets for joining the military just has to deal with it.

    • There are PLENTY of legal ways out and I have seen quite a few of them used. And regrets have nothing to do with legality.

    • Your not officially in until after bootcamp during which the military decides if they want you.

    • But the paperwork to get out....
We had a guy who called it quits twenty minutes into P-1 day, not even the official start of Boot Camp, and I left Boot camp over a month before he did!
