Help answer this question below.

Whats the difference between a dish and a bowl ? Someone asked me today,and I have no idea. Is there a difference ?, am I an idiot?

    I typed in my search to ask the exact first question in this thread!
    Seems it got off to a good start and then Brian in the 6th reply got everything off track when he brought in the word "plate", which was definitely not in the original question.
    Webster's Dictionary states:
    A Bowl is Round, Concave, and Holds Food.
    The definition of a Dish, however, was quite broad and did not specify that it had to be round.
    My consensus is that a Bowl can be any depth but it must be round.
    A Dish can be varied in depth as well as shape. Tada!
