You're reading One of my ears is bright red and hot. What is this, and what can I do about it?

My son has been dealing with this for years now. He took a shower this morning, that was when he said his ear started to burn. It's now 7:45 pm, and his ears still burn. Nothing we've tried can cool it down. He has allergies, asthma, ADHD, anxiety and depression. He was having a good day today, not upset about anything. It's thanksgiving, no school for five days, he's been happy.
Sometimes it's one ear, sometimes both. Sometimes the burning goes away, sometimes it doesn't. When I mention this to his dr., she looks at me like I have two heads.
They're has to be answers somewhere. Good luck to all who suffer with this.
