Which over-used expression do you hate/use ie: "at the end of the day.."

    Good question. I extremely dislike hearing someone say "whatever" as a blow-off response. It's a useful word at times, but it's horrible and ratchets up the rudeness when used as a substitute for "I don't care what you have to say."
    Also, I wonder why a few years ago people started to say "is" twice. For example: "The thing is, is..." or: The way it works is, is..." It makes no sense and sounds really dumb!
