Question

Help answer this question below.

I recently bought a 2003 Saab 93, and when i was driving it, the front right speaker blew out and caused a circular crack in my window. Since the crack was caused by a factory defect, i want to know if anyone has ever heard of something like this?

It sounds unlikely to be a speaker that would blow to cause a circular crack in a window. I have studied in depth the various ins and outs of speakers and am certain that car glass wouldnt blow due to a speaker, this is almost impossible to achieve with car or even home speakers. What is more liekly is that a stone hit your window in which case you can claim on your insurance.

If you are adament that it was your speaker Saab will need to take the car in to look at the damage and come to their own conclusion, however I dont think that this will be fruitful. A 2003 93 will be out of warranty anyway and u must have purchased secondhand, unless it was from a Saab dealer where I would go and speak with a member of their staff and check what they say?

In short... I have never heard of anything like this example.

    I hope this helps you.

    • I appreciate your response. I will have to upload an image of the crack so you can appreciate the scenario. I took it to a windsheild expert who could find NO initial impact mark. the car is under warranty, so i'm taking the matter to corporate.
