What kind of file has a db extension?

    The .DB extension is used for databases and are not specific to any one application.

    For example...Windows Media Player keeps a .DB file of the Library, Adobe keeps a DB of Fonts, etc.

    Microsoft Access sotres files as .MDB, which are specific to that application.
