Selected by the asker, sega256. (What's this?)

The TEA party while not directly embracing racism, does use it to it's advantage. Racist groups tend to be grass roots organizations and anti-government as well, so they're drawn to "grass roots" anti-government movements. The TEA Party pretends to be a grass roots anti-government organization, however they're not much more than a wing of the republican party designed to promote ultra-neo-conservative ideals under the cover of "reform." They know better than to openly embrace racists, but so long as the racism is quiet and can be reasonably denied publicly they allow it to fester because it energizes it base and draws in voters. So no they're not racist, they just use racism to promote their own interests.

    • Same can be said of the democrat party.
      EXCEPT they openly embrace racists.

    • Racists are drawn to anti-government movments? Strange, I am drawn to them and have yet to meet a racist among liberty activists. It is also strange that apparently I am an "ultra-neo-con" but I didn't realize this. I don't know how this is possible because i (unlike our president) am anti-war but your information comes from the american media, so it must be accurate.

    • Stronghold, My information comes from first hand observation. I've worked with quite a few TEA partiers. Most are decent people, who believe the rhetoric. But some(I'd guess 5% to 10%) are racist red necks who don't like n!ggers and sp!cks(blacks and hispanics). And this 10 to 15 are in California, a state not known for it's racial intolerance. Change locations to the south and mid-west and you've got a likely hood of a much higher percentage.

Take these photos of actual TEAbaggers at actual tea party rallies.

    • They're a registered PAC funded by the Koch brothers and other bigots. Nothing grassroots about them.

    • Hi ConservativelyLiberal. Those photos are pointing out the racist placards that people are carrying. I don't know if you are being sarcastic or not.
Almost every one of those pictures is racist, and they are not from California.
Not sure I understand what you are saying.
