Which is better - EDTV or HDTV?

EDTV is a MAJOR step forward in the industry, altough for some reason the TV companies are struggling to get everything speced to HDTV.
So why is that?

To go thru all the details on here would be quite lengthy, but here's a great link that discusses the differences of SDTV (Standard), HDTV (High), and EDTV (Enhanced).
