Is there any one contradiction in the Christian Bible that stands out more to you than the others?

    My personal favorite...and the appearence of this depends on which version you currently have in your dirty little hands...Is the appearance of the word "tattoo"...
    The word "tattoo" comes from the Tahitian word "tatau". Captain James Cook used the word "tattow" when he witnessed tattooing for the first time in Tahiti, in 1769.
    So someone PLEASE explain how a word that is ONLY 250 years old can possibly appear in a book that is much older...
    The truth is that the bible itself states that man is flawed and the fact is that the printing/coping of the bible has been left up to this flawed creature to accomplish so how in hundreds of years could we NOT screw it up...
    Now all that being said I personally believe that when reading the bible you will receive the information you seek but as Gods message is slightly different for each of us so is the comfort and meaning you can take from the EXACT same passages...But that is just my opinion
