I never tip. In fact, sometimes when I eat in a restaurant that adds service charge to the bill automatically I ask for it to be removed, as is my right.

I used to be a chef. I worked twice as hard as the waiters, was constantly moaned at, sweated, got dirty and why? So that the waiters could get good tips. Many earned £500-£600 a week for 25 hours work. I was on about £300 for around 60 hours.

    We do not tip:
    - dustmen
    - nurses
    - librarians
    - supermarket staff
    - teachers

All of these people work hard, are woefully underpaid and, IMHO, are doing a much better job than someone who carries a few plates about.
