Are human females the only female mammals that will accept a male when they aren't fertile?

    No. The Bonobo (a relative of the Chimpanzee) engages in sexual activity for pleasure in much the same way humans do. Even when the female is not in heat, she will still engage in sexual activity. This even includes oral sex, heavy petting, kissing, sexual toys, even incest and homosexual relationships. Sex is a big thing in Bonobo's society and social relationships in that it helps them bond and "keep the peace."
