If you can't afford to tip, then you can't afford to be in the restaurant. If you're receiving good service, you should acknowledge that.

I said nothing about not acknowledging good service. I will go to any resrturant I please and if I only have enough for the bill that's my business if it bothers you to much mayby you could leave enough for all of next time. And when I leave my manners are still in tact. I bet you come unglued if theres awater spot on your glass. Don't you ever tell anyone what they can or cannot afford Mr big shot.

It certainly is your business if you choose to stiff hard-working people. I hope you don't teach the way you comment.
by Scifisuz on June 8th, 2007
beenthere, with all due respect, your reaction and subsequent remark to Scifisuz is the only thing here that's "come unglued". She said exactly what anyone who's ever worked in a restaurant will tell you, and I agree 100%.
You can respond to people without becoming defensive and/or resorting to personal attacks and name-calling, can't you?

Jodie - Thx for the show of support. When I was growing up my mother (after leaving my father) and I lived off her tips. How did you know?
by Scifisuz on June 8th, 2007
1) You're welcome! and 2) I was a bartender for a few years.
by Jodie44 on June 8th, 2007
I can totally picture you as a bartender, personality-wise.

Okay, okay so I had a bad day! Give a girl a brake. I do agree I just needed to vent. I'm very sorry. So can I please get off your list, and on the bar stool, I need a drink! I work for a living I know how important it is to be appreciated.
by Stillme FBB on June 8th, 2007
Awwww. I'm sorry you had a bad day:( I've had a few of those myself , so it's cool. You're sweet to apologize. No worries. I hope things get better ASAP.
by Jodie44 on June 8th, 2007
So BT apologizes to YOU, Jodie....
by Scifisuz on June 9th, 2007
I inferred it as an apology to YOU for her earlier comment - the only one she made - where she got a little snarky with you. After all, what other comment can she possibly apologize for besides the only one she made? It may look like her "I'm very sorry" is directed at me, but that's only because I'm the one who responded first. (07:40 last night) Does that make sense?
by Jodie44 on June 9th, 2007
Scifisuz-I do apologize to you, my frustrations should not have been directed at you or tipping! So have a good day, and I hope you won't hold my little flare up against me.
by Stillme FBB on June 9th, 2007
Oh and just one more thing, I will always smile when ever I give a very good tip for a job well done, because of course I'll be thinking of you.
by Stillme FBB on June 9th, 2007
Apology accepted. Better yet think of all the folks like yourself who work hard and earn their pay. Hope you & your daughter have many opportunities to eat well and tip well!
