I think bigotry towards African-Americans is due to African-American Vernacular English (some say Ebionics) more than color. Color is 1st seen; then African-AmericanVernacular English adds prejudice whereas dictionary-lpronounced English reduces it. Agree

    It's a big factor. From what I've seen in the US, a black woman with a British accent isn't treated at all like one with a southern US accent. White guys will hit on her, she'll be assumed to be smarter, it's a whole different world.
