You're reading I have configured my Thunderbird as an IMAP server, Is there an option so that all new mails may directly go into my local folders? Or maybe they can duplicate themselves on the mail server and local folder?

no it wont work.. POP3 automatically copies the mail onto your loacal folders when you open the mail, and the copy on the mail server is lost!.. that's not what i'm looking for!
