nice answer. question though. why do you let the alcohol evaporate?

The whole idea behind this is that thc is fat and alchohol soluble. The thc in this case is absorbed by the alchohol then when the alchohol is evaporated the only thing left is the essential oils containing the thc. You could drink the alchohol if you want but grain alchohol is pretty rough. My favorite method is making butter which is time consuming but worth the effort. I use one cup of unsalted butter per ounce of herb when using regs or 1/4 of dank. Put the herb and the butter in a pot and fill with water keep it at a slow boil for about 8 hours. Keep adding water to the pot until the last 30 min or so. Now you need to let it cool but only for a minute. Strain the liquid thru a piece of cheese cloth. Squeeze the cheesecloth as much as you can cuz you want every drop of butter you can get. Use thick latex gloves cuz that shit is hot. Now take your strained liquid and dump it into a solo cup or some other flexible plastic container about 3" diameter and fill about half way. Put your cups in the fridge overnight and in the morning squeeze the cup to break the seal and dump the water out and you should be left with a perfect cake of pretty green butter.

yeah I did butter once and it turned out. decent. I don't think I used enough of the herb when I had done it but still worked. but question on the alcohol one. after evaporation, will the liquid get you drunk at all or only if you keep the alcohol in it? also what color should the oil be?

What's going to be left after evaporation should be a dark brown to almost black. Just put a drop on top of a freshly packed bowl or on a joint or cigarette.

k thanks. I think I need to make a stop at the liquor store. sorry but one more question. should I use everclear which is 190 proof or vodka which is 100 proof?
