What are some cures for hiccups? How do you get them in the first place?

    Saltlick

    Throughout my life I cured it by taking a very deep breathe and holding it, squeezing down on it, for a long time and suppressing any further hiccups that way. It works.

    • same here ... it's the best method I know ... works even better if you hyperventilate a little first, taking several rapid, deep breaths, because then you can hold your breath longer
