Funny...when "A Clockwork Orange" came out, the pivotal rape scene was judged by critics who used words like, 'visceral', to describe it. But when "Deliverance" became a film, the scene of a man being raped by another man made these same critics mumble things like, 'disturbing'.

    • Both of which were released 40 years ago. The civil rights act was in 1964. Deliverance was released in 1972 and A Clockwork Orange was released in 1971. So, 7 and 8 years after the Civil Rights Act. James Bond use to slap women around. Now look at the guy. Sean Connery was a balding and hairy Scot who drank martinis and slept around with a vast array of women. Now Bond is a misunderstood orphan who desperately seeks to find true love in all the wrong places. We have come a long way since the 1960s and 70s.
