Help answer this question below.

Can someone tell me what type of wood I could use to build a nice set of bookcases which I will decorate with moulding - I do not want that cheap-looking melamine and I don't want to just decorate an IKEA Billy bookcase either.

    if you're going to paint it, use mdf(medium density fiberboard) or poplar But if keeping it unpainted cherry is beautiful
