Has there ever been a Hollywood re-make widely considered to be better than the original film?

    Many say the remake of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Omen and the Amityville horror. I have seen all three in old and new. I don't think the Amityville horror was good at all, the original TCM was bloody terriofying, but not the second, and the remake of the omen is scarier than the first, so a pretty mixe bag

      The originals are MUCH better. You're the first whom I've heard to say the remakes are better :)
