hate, fear, sadness, and disconnection are single step automatic responses (you just suddenly feel them) while love, courage, joy, and connection are a multi-step process that requires some getting used to. have you ever done something you knew you were in trouble for? and you get the "3rd degree" from mom or dad. this is the same feelings you associate with meeting new people, the "3rd degree" - my name's ... what's your name? where are you from? can i sleep with you tonight? how tall are you? do you come here often? are you a true blonde? can i call you sometime? emotions spinning while you are "grilled" not knowing the outcome of the Q & A. change the association as an adult by making the "3rd degree" fun by teasing. do you always wear your hair on your head? I've seen you here before, are you stalking me? can i have your autograph? than find rapport, so you can fit-in and fell comfortable with the stranger. 3 steps to comfort, break the ice, hold a conversation, create rapport. practice and expect rejection.
