You're reading I was driving down a 35 mph road, i knew i was going 50, and a cop pulled me over. he came to my car and asked me if i knew i was going 73 in a 35. i had 4 other people in my car, and they all say that i was going 50, how can i fight this?

yes, it was the radar method. is there any way that i can get a log sheet or anything showing my speed? and also, how would i go about getting the calibration information? it was realtively clear, on the traffic ticket, he put that traffic wasnot clear, but the level right above clear, so i don't think that traffic was an issue. he showed me a radar accuracy test using a tuning fork, and besides that, he didn't do much else except lecture me, make me call my parents, and stay there for a few hours waiting on everyone to get there.

Another possibility is that your speedo is wrong. 20mph is a big chunk to be off, but it's possible. Is your car old? Have you made any modifications to it? Given that your account is honest, something is off. The radar gun shouldn't be off by 20mph, and neither speedo should be off by that much.

New tires? New rims, new gears anything? 20 mph is a huge difference.
