Help answer this question below.
Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer recently signed into law the nation's toughest illegal immigration enforcement bill, requiring local police officers to make a reasonable attempt to determine the immigration status of those suspected of being illegal immigrants. Are you for or against it? You can also VOTE in the poll on this topic.
Against it. First, it is very discriminatory and unfair. I know that most of you condone that. However, here's the other problem and the biggest and the one that y'all, whether you're a racist or not, should worry about: that law will open the door for the government to demand that ALL citizens (no matter what the nationality and immigration status) carry ID on their person. Those who do not comply will then be fined and/or incarcerated just as they do when someone is driving a vehicle without a license. I've said this before but if you want to see how well this works and at what scale, talk to any Cuban and they'll tell you how Castro was able to keep a population of 12 million peole at check with that simple little law.
But, hey, y'all continue being happy and jumping for joy on your racist bliss. It won't be long till the tables are turned on you. So enjoy it while you can!

absolutely correct... the nazis were another group that enjoyed asking to see citizens' "papers" showing that they were legit. God help them if they weren't.
by knownothing on April 27th, 2010
Yeah, You know there is another group that has no tolorance for illegal immigration either. If you are caught immigrating there illegally you face 2 years in jail. If you are licked out and attempt return, you face 10 years in prison. You cannot participate in any kind of protest or demonstration or you will face prison. You have absolutely no civil rights, unless you can pay for them...That place where this all happens is.....ready...Mexico!!!!!

usually those without an iota of common sense will scream "racism". the law that arizona is passing is the same law that the federal government has in place for its law enforcement. you just dont want to get rid of you slave labor force. this has absolutely nothing to do with racism on the part od the arizona government. you are all perfectly content with the large rate of kidnappings and cartel/ gang crime that is going on in Phoenix, the call us racist and turn around and say, "well illeagals are the onlyones being victimized by the cartels" and the ever favorite "it is racist to expect any better out of mexicans" grow up. if you need to find a racist look in the mirror. you bring absolutely no solution to the problem to the table and whine about "racism" when you dont even realize that you resemble the remark.
by Lawdawg7051 on April 28th, 2010
Hey ummm... clearly you don't understand that we do have to carry ID.... yes citizens of the USA, do already have to be able to prove who they are. NO, we do not have to show proof of that unless doing something illegal. YES, coming into our country with out getting permission is a crime.
by Tripper87 on April 28th, 2010
agreed. besides, it isnt like AZ has the resources to deport all the illeagals in the state. but it can cause a disruption in the "comfort level" of criminals, making them less likely to cross into arizona, making the population safer. now we just need the rest of the border states to follow suit
by Lawdawg7051 on April 28th, 2010
Well, I wish y'all - and the State of AZ - a great deal of luck on this venture. Last time they tried something this overtly racist, let's just say it didn't work out well for them and it cost their citizens millions of dollars. The forces that were in place at that time, have come to the rescue once again and it won't be long before the pendullum swings back. Too bad for all of your patriotic, hardcore racists...err...Americans. You'll have to try another time and in another place see if it sticks.
by Mephistopheles on April 28th, 2010
Mephistopheles Clearly... you have not read the bill, or can you even understand that there is NOTHING RACIST in this LAW... while I appreicate your interest in being so wonderful to the world... I CAN NOT AFFORD to continue with the current change in America... Hey if I wanted to be in a socialist country I would move there... This is America, the land of the FREE! Let me have my freedom, and if you want freedom, we have always allowed for LEGAL immigration to the United States...
by Tripper87 on April 28th, 2010
(meph) LOL... its ignorant how cute:)
by Lawdawg7051 on April 28th, 2010
What we are seeing IS the pendulum swinging back, swinging back to sanity and law and order. It is swinging back faster than ever. This Obama experiment has failed. Nov. is coming up fast and the Dems are scrambling and even dropping out rather then face the inevitable loss. We are coming to realize the cost of the blinders that have been installed on a blind public, the blinders of liberalism. We cannot sustain the 100's of billions of dollars that are spent "feeling tolerant". The threat of being called "Racist" by the small minded sheep who use it as their only weapon, because common sense and intelligent debate are beyond them so they level names and accusations against those with whom they dissagree, no longer has the power to stop what is coming. And what is coming has started in Arizona. We are taking back our country..So call it what you will Meph...

Tripper8: remember, never assume anything cause you make an ass out of you and me. Racist is as racist does.
by Mephistopheles on April 29th, 2010
designer: don't look now but your bigotry and ignorance is showing. We'll see how the mighty State of Arizona feels like when it is sued, boycotted and in the red as a result of its racist and extremist actions. When they have to call the whole thing off, like they did in the 80s when they refused to recognize Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as a holiday (no racism there either!), then, we'll revisit the issue.
Till then, have a good time watching the circus as it unfolds and make sure you keep taps on the lawsuit that the mayor of Phoeix is filing against the state and, please, keep me posted on the developments.
Now, I'm signing off. The minds of the likes of y'all cannot even be opened with a crowbar!
by Mephistopheles on April 29th, 2010
Meph.... good luck with your ignorance... don't let the facts get in the way of your ideas... You have been signed out for a long time.. but call someone soon to tell you how to believe.
by Tripper87 on April 29th, 2010
Racist? The law isn't "Check all people who look Mexican for ID." And if the people who are most against the law are illigal immigrants, I support it all the more.
by ThatGuyTed on April 29th, 2010
I thought this was a thread about christmas? last i checked mexicans celebrated christmas too.. but then again, i guess political posturing over a moot point such as immigration is gonna eventually evolve into something else.
oh, i support the AZ bill alright, but it wont be effective unless we secure the border. so i dont see it as much more than a "line in the sand" for the folks in AZ. and as far as the rioters and such, well... cant expect any better out of that crowd. the left has no codes of conduct or standards (usually, there are however exceptions but they are too few to make a difference.) again, moot point. that is so easily predictable behavior that the News media aside from Fox wont even bother to cover it. better to cover the imaginary rioting and bad behavior from the tea party folks....
by Lawdawg7051 on April 29th, 2010
Yeah, Your right Meph!!!. I am intolerant, Indeed... I am quite intolerant of people who have no clue as to something but act as if they know everything about it. i am intolerant of those who do nothing but regurgitate the spin which they have consumed. I am intolerant of those who have so obviously not read the bill and then go about telling everyone what is in it. I am intolerant of those who want lawlessness and anarchy to satisfy some perverted guilt. So go ahead, call me a bigot
by designer is wearing a ....... on April 29th, 2010
ah, I posted on wrong thread...LOL oh well.. point is the same
by Lawdawg7051 on April 30th, 2010
he will, designer... it is all he knows... he is reading from the play book... rightwingers (or anyone who disagrees with the established left) are all racist bigots homophobes, the tactics are as follows: 1) call them names and hope to silence opposition. 2) control the language therefore controll the debate. 3) vitriol and assumtions are to be utilized at every chance within a debate so as to overwhelm opponents into silence, it doesnt matter if the facts are true or not. just keep trowing accusations and exaggerations until something sticks and the opposition is silenced. 4)hold self to no standards. accept no blame, harp about everything the left holds dear; if a right winger is gay, cheats on spouse, has interracial relationship, or is of a minority assault them with words such as "hypocrit" "uncletom" "oreo"...etc
it goes on but those are just a few from the left's playbook. it almost seems like those guys are produced from an assemblyline... not a unique quality amongthem
by Lawdawg7051 on April 30th, 2010
This would be the perfect spot to carry out a witch hunt. All of the ignorant racists together, patting each other on the shoulder...how coy! And because y'all have 'minds' (and I use the word losely) so close that can't be opened with a crow bar, you think that you're right. Denial is more than a river in Egypt!
by Mephistopheles on May 3rd, 2010
designer: you are one stupid, rabid and racist fuck.
Lemme ask you something, Einstein, how exactly do you think the "determination" of who is a possible illegal immigrant is going to come about? What exactly does the bill say about that, huh?
Squawk Squawk, designer wanna cracker...Squawk Squawk...Or do you only have the ability to repeat what Rush Limbo, Glenn Beck, et al whip out of their fat asses to cater to your stupidity absent any thought process?
by Mephistopheles on May 4th, 2010
Oh, that is nice Meph. Your mamma teach you to talk like that...I find that people who resort to this kind of name calling, do so because they lack the intelligence to actually put forth a decent argument. Racist???
The mother of my beautiful children is Latina, which makes my children 1/2 mexican. I am not against any race, I am against a culture which believes laws do not need to be followed. Arizona has a problem with 100's of thousands of Hispanics crossing the border ILLEGALLY. call it racist, call it what you want, doesn't make it so!!! What do you want to do with the problem, what is Your idea..Amnesty???
by designer is wearing a ....... on May 4th, 2010
ROTFLMFAO! As I type and breathe, designer is actually accusing me of name calling. Bwaaa haaa!
But never mind that, how's about this, directly from Attorney General Erick Holder:
“I don’t think it’s racist in its motivation. But I think the concern I have is how it will be perceived and how it perhaps could be enacted, how it could be carried out. I think we potentially get on a slippery slope where people will be picked on because of how they look as opposed to what they have done, and that is, I think, something that we have to try to avoid at all costs.”
NOt that y'all would get it but this is the essence of the problem and this is what those of us who aren't Xenophobes are screaming about.
by Mephistopheles on May 11th, 2010
Oh well that is really something Meph... hmmm such as weak an AG as we have ever seen.
I will ignore the name calling as you clearly don't understand that I am all for LEGAL Immigration... I am against UNLAWFUL Acts by US and Non-US Citizens... but of course that is hard for you to understand... Maybe your Higher Power Obama will provide for you with some intelligence or help you think for yourself...
by Tripper87 on May 11th, 2010
Here we go! If we don't like a message, we attack the messenger, his shoes, his socks, his mother, his cat, his neighbor. And it's all okay in Right Wingland. No matter what, you'll always win even if you have to pull the trigger in order to prevail.
As for the name calling...ROTFL. Dude, don't look in the mirror now... HA HA! You people are always good for a laugh.
by Mephistopheles on May 11th, 2010
"designer: you are one stupid, rabid and racist fuck."..Meph..
"designer: don't look now but your bigotry and ignorance is showing.", again...Meph
"whip out of their fat asses to cater to your stupidity", once again, said by the wonderfully tolerant Meph
So what was that about a mirror
note, Meph has not even attempted to answer any question I have posed in this thread...just the above...Brilliant!!!!!!
by designer is wearing a ....... on May 11th, 2010
Actually, I already do carry ID on me. I drive a car, cash checks. This isn't about racism it's about legality. They are C-R-I-M-I-N-A-L-S. They crossed the border I-L-L-E-G-A-L-L-Y. If you cross the border in other countries you can get shot, or put in jail. Here we give illegal immigrants, free health care, schooling, and jobs. Who do you think is paying for this. Since you are a sympathizer I have a suggestion for you. Put your money where your mouth is. Have a fundraiser for illegal immigrants. With the largest donation coming from you.
by laaayla on May 17th, 2010
"Racism" is the last refuge of someone who has very little to say.
by Randoley on May 22nd, 2010
ok, so you haven read the law. it pretty much covers the basics. if a cop pulls someone over, or arrives at a crime scene or makes an arrest and the person in question has no ID and doesnt speak english, then there is probable cause for the police officer to book the person, use his fingerprints to see if he or she is a legal immigrant, or an immigrant at all, if they forgot their visa or papers, or birth certificate or papers, then they will be sent over either by the federal immigration officials or the health department. if they left them at home, they can have someone bring them over to the precinct. simple. if you are a citizen, even if you dont have an ID, you will have a birth certificate. if you are trying to pretend you dont speak english to keep from having to speak to the police, you get to take a ride while it all gets sorted out. whole process will only take a couple hours. race isnt even a factor
by Lawdawg7051 on May 24th, 2010
if a cop pulls a vehicle over and 10 people jump out, and run in all direrctions, then after they are rounded up,... see above process... again race isnt a factor... in case you havent noticed, america is a melting pot, illeagals come from many different countries. mexico is just one of them. last i checked "Illeagal alien" isnt a race. since you seem to forget that a good bit of hispanics are on the police force, in the corrections departments and all throughout arizona government, you, like our president are obviously not enlightened enough to have any idea how to read the bill. it isnt hard... it is 17 pages long read it, then come back with a decent argument. obviously you flash the race card and wish to shut everyone up. doesnt work when race isnt even applicable. read the damn law. it even states that race cannot be a factor. that still leaves plenty other avenues for the police to work with. do you have any idea how detectives like me do their job? are you that dumb as to think race is the only tool on our toolbelts when we investigate something? it isnt even a very useful tool. take it out of the equation and we still get the job done. or are you just ignorant and too ingnorant at that to even know you are ignorant?
by Lawdawg7051 on May 24th, 2010
Yeah, right someone from Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, et al with a name like Law"dawg" just interpreted the law for me. How coy! How about we settle on this: let the US decide. Wanna bet me a 100 bucks that in a few months from now Arizona will have to put its head up its ass and concede defeat just like it did with the Martin Luther King holiday? History is clear on this, too bad that you don't know history, except of course, for that of the Ku Klux Klan, "dawg"
by Mephistopheles on May 26th, 2010
As for you, designer, I didn't answer any of your questions because you didn't ask any. In your racist, schizophrenic tirades, all you did was name-calling, ad hominem attack and squawk like a parrot with a crack up its ass.
Nough said!
by Mephistopheles on May 26th, 2010
What is so wrong about wanting these people to follow the law and stopping them when they don't? Heck I've been a citizen for forty years and I have to follow all of the laws, and I'm sure when I get pulled over I will have to show my papers. Why are immigrants who come here illegally not expected to be treated like me?
by Randoley on May 26th, 2010
meph, you arent even close enough to insult me. how funny you resort to such self-degrading, childish, intolerant, and ignorant behavior when you cant even read the law yourself. if you had read it you would see how the law is to be implemented and carried out. such idiocy can only come from a person who has made themselves into a walking-talking stereotype of the urban leftist.
you seem to be the one that focuses on race to the point that you arent even enlightened enough to realize that OTM's are beginning to be a real problem on the border. ive seen your type. cop gets killed by illeagals, "he was doing something he shouldnt", average citizen gets killed by an illeagal "serves the racist right", illeagals getting kidnapped and murdered by cartels "well they are only mexicans anyway", people lose their jobs to a lower paid illeagal "they are just doing jobs that american's wont do" as though somehow it isnt prejudicial to imply that mexican's dont have employment standards and therefor should pick up scraps from working jobs at half pay. you are notthing more than a bigot. stop trying to imply that people who actually give further thought than bumpersticker slogans are "racist" and "homophobes" we arent vampires and we dont shy away from such childish behavior like it were garlic
by Lawdawg7051 on May 27th, 2010
-42 states already have the law that you must carry ID.
-The fed. gov. already has the law that non-citizen here on visa etc. must carry their papers at all times.
-AZ says that a valid Driver's License is approved ID for this law.
