I cannot find anyone who has an exact recipe, however. It has probably been lost over the centuries. Physicians often kept their remedies a secret. However, the cost of the ointment and its popularity throughout the empire indicate that it must have worked.

If they did use it, and it was just one site that said they did, they must have known the quantity to use. but, as I said, the recipe has been lost. I wouldn't try making it...even if you could get Phrygian stone to grind up.
