Why are men allowed to be involved in debates concerning abortion law? Shouldn't the issue be decided by women alone?

You're reading I have a friend, 17, and pregnant. She is only a few weeks, Can she get an abortion in the state of florida without her parents finding out?

That is very sad, girls should be free to abort their babies since they are the only 1's who will suffer with the consequences.

Personally, I feel that they should not have sex unless they are prepared to raise a child. Period.
(no, I am not anti-abortion, I am anti-abortion used as birth control)
by Keysha on May 17th, 2010
OK, that sounds reasonable. So I guess you think that people shouldn't have sex until married?
by Vaporeongirl on May 17th, 2010
Unless they are prepared to care for a child, no. Abortion is not birth control. If you are prepared to give birth to a child, and put it up for adoption, if needed, then fine, go for it. Otherwise, no.
And yes, I practice what I preach. I never even kissed a guy until I met Arisztid, at age 40. Nor do I regret it. As he is sitting about 3 feet from me now, I think it worked.

Oh, wow, you were a virgin until you were 40?!? I congratulate you for not being a hypocrite; you have integrity. I wouldn't be able to hold out without sex for that long.
by Vaporeongirl on May 18th, 2010
I was raised that if you can't pay, don't play.

Ah, I see, a very wise and responsible policy. However, do you agree with a woman getting an abortion if she was raped or a victim of incest? What if she's going to die or suffer severe psychological damage as the result of pregnancy?
by Vaporeongirl on May 18th, 2010
That is not a form of birth control. That is when the well-being of the mother is at stake. Also, if the baby has severe defects (thalidomide babies, for example). I have no problem with abortion as long as it is not used as a simple convenience. I strongly feel, if a woman has two abortions by her choice, because she did not use adequate protection, she should have her tubes tied.
by Keysha on May 18th, 2010
OK, you are a reasonable person. I'm OK with you and your ideas make sense to me. By the way, what's Thalidomide disorder anywayz?
by Vaporeongirl on May 18th, 2010
Youtube or google images of thalidomide babies and see. It is horrific. Thalidomide was given to pregnant women in the late 50's as a sedative.
by Keysha on May 19th, 2010
OK, I saw what you were talking about and it was so horrible, I couldn't stand it. Yes, it would definately be better to abort someone than to have them live all their lives that way.
