You're reading I have a $100,000 dollar 1934 gold certificate. How much is it worth, and how can I find out whether it's authentic?
Comments
I have only seen a DR used appropriately once here. The rest of the time it's all been for stupid reasons.

sorry Glenn Blaylock but it is NOT "it is illegal for private citizens to even own them" Everything printed by the federal reserve is legal tender . . .

Oh and by the way, i checked thet website you mentioned; it dosn't evan exist . . .

Sorry, aharris206, but it is illegal to hold these. The address to the page I cited has changed, but that website is still very much in existence. Here is then new address.
http://moneyfactory.gov/100000goldcertificate.html
Note, this is the official web site of the US Bureau of Printing and Engraving. This is the division of the government that is in charge of actually printing our money. So, I would think that they know what they are talking about on this issue.
(I would also point out that it just took a google search for "100,000 dollar gold certificate" to locate this web page. It was the 8th link on the first page.)
