The United States of America had slapped a heavy oil embargo on Japan which is the main reason Japan attacked Pearl Harbor.

    • Thanks! But why did the US place an oil embargo on Japan prior to WW II?

    • The oil embargo was in response to Japan's invasion of China in the 1930's

    • well this is not the real reason bro! japan was planning to attack southeast asia and assist the AXIS power in ww2 to capture USSR but it was clear to the japanese that US would interfere and form an alliance with the ALLIES , so, without any warning they charged at pearl harbor to weaken US's naval capabilities.
