Am I doing the right thing by saying no?

A little background information before we get started: I'm 19 and a Sophomore in college, and my girlfriend is 17 and a Senior in H.S. The other day she asked me to go to prom, and I said no. I didn't go to my Junior or Senior prom because that's just not me, I don't like getting dressed up and really dislike dancing (aka not very good :P). The thing is that she says this is REALLY important to her, and to her school, this prom is even bigger than graduation. So I said no, and she keeps bringing it up.

She then asked if she could go with another guy, and I thought about it and realized I really didn't mind and it would probably bother her more than it would to me, but then she gave me a really emotional phone call saying how she doesn't want to go with anyone else (not even a girl). So what should I do? I really don't want to go, she really wants me to go. The relationship went sour as well, really quick. Help! :)
