With fees for debit cards comming, why not switch back to writing checks? Isn't debit cards a convenience for banks more than us?

Even if the debit card was used to buy a subscription where it automatically drafts it out at payment time or will will my subscription be canceled?

It depends, if they are charging through the card or if they are automatically deductiong from the account. There is a difference. So if it is coming from the card, the payment might be rejected, but if it's straight from the account it should be fine.
