Your right Peter didn't start the Catholic Church.....Jesus did.
Jesus simply asked Peter to be the first leader of the new church.

where in NT does it show that Jesus church was anywhere even vaguely resembling any rituals of the Catholic organization?..confessions, sprinkling water, babies baptised, calling a mortal father, ,rosary beads, exalting Mary and saints, having a head(pope) , Jesus is the HEAD and no other.... i am sorry , but this is just not true..what does the word catholic mean anyway?
by thatsJustme on January 28th, 2009
Yea, he did. The Catholic church was called christanity then. Catholic means universal. The women being throne by stones, babies where baptized as a replacement for the Jewish rite of the presiontation (Catholic was based on Judism) Catholic means univeral. the pople is like a substue teacher for Jesus and saints are simply role modles.
