No not if you are going by the definition of crime:

    1. an action or an instance of negligence that is deemed injurious to the public welfare or morals or to the interests of the state and that is legally prohibited.

There are more definitions that go along with crime but for the sake of the legal system this is it. So technically it is not a crime. It is not considered negligent, or injurous to the publics welfore or morals or to the state. Therefore it is not a crime.

If you want to get more technical then it changes. It is a crime that a person has to terminate as some stated the innocent life of a another human being. Morally it is I beleive, but now we are getting into that debate over who and what makes it the right for anyone other than the mother to decide. Since this child is not totally independant of the mother than it is difficult to consider it a being seperate from her. So if it cannot live without her is it truly another being or just part of her body. These are all the morally charged questions associated to abortion. But as a crime that you can actaully charge someone with, no.
